Thought I'd show off the cockroach (ugly and won't die) rifle. Chinese factory code 306 numbers matching. Milled receiver, threaded shank barrel.
Picked it up bout 3 years ago for $225 in cozmoline . I can't believe some asking prices on these now. I remember laughing at the garage cans full of these for $90 each. I seldom see one these days I think I'll hold onto this one. It's fun to shoot . Goes bang every time. I'm leaving it all original cause if it ain't broke don't fix it ..

Had 2 I picked up for $45 each years ago but traded them as the stocks felt too short for me. Think I got $150 each and thought it was a good deal.

Yes, I am an SKS fan and collector of them. Right now I only have 3 of them. A Chinese "ghost", a Chinese Paratrooper, and a Yugo M59-66. Years ago I had a total of 21 SKS rifles from different countries and manufacturing dates. I had Russian, Chinese, Yugoslavian, and Romanian manufactured rifles but hard times hit and I sold them off to make ends meet at the time. I will say that I got more for each one sold than what I paid for each one bought. Pics of my Yugo M59-66.

I'm a pretty frugal guy and got my hands on a nice looking Russian for $325 a couple of years ago. The gun did everything it was supposed to but just never did anything for me. Nothing against them but not my cup of tea. Now that prices are $400-$500 for a Chicom or Yugo I'm really not into them. Glad you like yours

I bought a Yugo two decades ago for $50. Still have it but haven’t shot it in years.

Never had one or really wanted one but there is many folks who like them. I have about 400 rounds of 7.62x39 ammo and it might be nice to have something to fire it in.

Not what I would consider the best but I like the Chinese SKS versions the most. I will say that the Russian versions I owned had the best looking wood stocks out of all the different country versions I owned. All the Russian SKS rifles I owned were manufactured by the Tula plant. I tried several times to locate and purchase one from the Izehvsk plant since they were made there for only two years, 1953 and 1954 and are very uncommon due to such a short manufacturing time span. Each time I would find one though, the price tag was way more than I was willing to spend. A few I have not owned are North Korean, NVA captured bringback and Albanian.

I have the Chinese version but it is missing it's bayonet. I put a composite black Monte Carlo stock on it and used it one season for bear hunting. Dropped a bear out of a tree with it. No second shot was needed. Still have the original furniture, and, a light weight folding tactical stock as well.
Paid nothing for it. Inherited it from my late BIL. Probably would not have one otherwise.
