That's not so much a rifle as a statement of the gunsmith's art.

from the standpoint of buying safe queens or wall hangers, I'm not a firearms collector .... I learned long ago to never say never so what I'll say is, I never have been and do not ever anticipate doing so .... historically, what I do purchase are firearms to fill a specific purpose .... the only possible exception that I can think of is our Henry 45-70 .... I don't anticipate ever hunting any of Africa's "Big Six" but I've always wanted a rifle capable of doing so .... our 45-70 is the first such rifle that I've come across at at time I had the resources to buy .... while I like to look at and talk about custom target rifles (even single shots) that's about it .... the rifle in the link is most certainly interesting and its good to see that its been sold .... I hope it will give very good service to whoever purchased it

As a lover of classic single shots, I would be tempted, but it's hard enough to find time to shoot we we have, now. beautiful gun, though.

If the bore is in very good condition that is a cheap price . A reproduction will cost over $1200 .

Classy. The 38-55 cartridge is pretty neat though my experience with it is limited.

Beautiful
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
