My AR 57

Post by HenryHoarder » Mon Apr 04, 2016 9:46 am

I wanted to own a 5.7 X 28 FN.
Problem was, they were banned for many years.
The ban was dropped and I started looking.
First it was the FN 5.7 X 28 pistol.
Then I found a FN rifle. That turned out to be a bummer as the sight was a tiny hole less than 1/8h inch in diameter.
I sold it and found an AR 57 upper.
Bought an AR lower and never looked back. It is accurate to within a quarter sized circle at 50 yards.
I was offered some vest penetrating bullets and I turned them down as I have no intention of shooting anyone in law enforcement.
The bullets however are put together with glue, not crimped and this can cause a problem if you do not use FN brand bullets.
I'm very happy with the new AR 57.

The terrorist, criminal elements are wearing body armor now. An armed citizen has to use everything he can in a confrontation.

As to armored vests, there are two body parts left unprotected.
One being the groin area and the second being the neck.
My Thursday morning range time allows me to concentrate on small areas with a green laser mounted on the AR 57.
My home defense gun, "The Judge" also has a laser mounted on the top rail.
I have only had to use the Judge once and I for one would not have wanted to be where the laser was pointed.
The intruder remained motionless until he was escorted away by the local PD.
