Nice wood for sure. But Im like you shoot it. I have a Sharps that has outstanding wood and yes its been shot.

Could this title be a little miss leading?
It was for me !
Might want to change that to 'Buttstock' as 'butt' typically denotes something entirely different.....

I am a leg man but always appreciate a good butt. That one is pretty fine.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday.

Likewise. Drives me crazy when I see what some people have done to the natural beauty of good hardwood furniture. I've stripped and restored antiques that had bookmatched figured mahogany or other fine (and expensive) woods underneath layers of paint.

There's always the military nomenclature: Stock, Butt.
I realize this but since this isn't' the military, and I have been out for a while thats not the first thing that comes to my mind when I read 'Really Nice Butt' !
