Range Report: back to plinking

Post by Sir Henry » Fri Apr 04, 2025 10:06 am

I was gone to Williamsburg, VA for two weeks and returned to blistering wind and snow. Today is a calm sunny day so I took advantage of it.

I shot one my SGC which is one of my favorites.

I installed this Stevens 3-hole peep. It’s European and the threads are slightly different. It can be mounted on an American thread but if you take it off and put it back on the treads eventually will get stripped. For that reason if I change it the mount goes with it.

Up front it wears a Lyman globe. It currently has a peep insert.

Have always admired the sights on that SCG, Gene. Very old school, but also very effective.

Thanks Joanie, I went back out this afternoon and shot for almost two hours. By far the longest range time in years. I can remember going to the range and spending the entire day there.
