First time I'm loading .44 magnum, Hornady 240 gr. lead SWCs for my Henry carbine. My Lyman (50th) manual gives 1.645" OAL and says to adhere to the exact OAL for the proper seating of lead bullets. At that OAL, they won't feed in my Henry carbine. Max OAL is usually 1.610" which do feed OK.
At what OAL do you set loads for to get smooth feeds in your Henry with .44 magnum 240 gr. SWC? Does your rifle feed LSWC at 1.645" loads with no problem?'
