Pump action 22LR Henry
Pump action 22LR Henry
A LGS has a pump action 22LR Henry on sale for $400.
I don't have any pump rifles, but do have a Mossberg 500 shotgun.
Normally I'm into lever action rifles, but this 22 pump look sweet.
Anyone have an opinion of the benefits of pump vs lever?

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

If it's new at $400 that is a very good deal. The advantage I see with a pump is less movement off target while working the action. And it should be faster to cycle being a straight forward and back movement.

The Henry pump actions are a little stiff to cycle. I Love my pump action but the lever actions are a lot smoother. Mine is a very good and accurate shooter. You really can't go wrong with a pump action like already stated they are fun to shoot, If you have lever guns you really do need a pump to go with them and change up once in a while.

I bought one about a month ago and haven't shot it yet. I think a pump is better than a lever for shooting moving objects. It is much easier to stay on a moving target while pumping over working a lever. At least it is for me.

I wonder if Henry pumps smooth up after awhile. I'm tempted to buy one some day just to find out.jstanfield103 wrote:The Henry pump actions are a little stiff to cycle. They are quite smooth, but they'll never be a FN Browning Trombone. Having said that, you could fire it all day without working up a sweat.ditto1958 wrote:I wonder if Henry pumps smooth up after awhile. I'm tempted to buy one some day just to find out.
