What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Want to load some Berry's FP 158 gr heavy plated bullets rated 1500 fps with H110 for 357 mag practice. 15.6 grains in Hornandy manual says 1250 fps but Hogdon says 15.0 grains will produce 1480 fps. Any experience out there?

Hogdon 2025 book. Pistol data, no barrel length specified.
I will figure this out.
Thanks

....
The online Hodgdon reload center lists this in a 10" barrel.

Yep, that is pretty much what the book says. Lyman 16.3 grains 1178 fps. Nosler 14.9 1460 fps. Hornandy 15.6 1250 fps. I will load some starting around 14.0 and see what I get. Just thought I would ask if anyone had any experience with H110 using 158 gr bullets In 357 mag.
I have a lot of H110. I ordered 2 lbs and received 5 lbs. Offered to send it back but Hogdon told me to "keep it and thanks for tell us where it went".

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Early in my shooting career (scant more than a decade ago), I looked for a single load that I could use in both my Big Boy and my SmokeWagon revolver. I'm just a plinker, so my only considerations were that it worked well in both guns and was accurate. Since then I've shot a few thousand of them. It's a mild load by anybody's standards, but I don't want to beat up the guns or myself. I just want to have fun shooting. It's accurate in my Big Boy out to 50 yds.Ernie wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 12:52 pmYep, that is pretty much what the book says. Lyman 16.3 grains 1178 fps. Nosler 14.9 1460 fps. Hornandy 15.6 1250 fps.
