72 very humid degrees at 8:20AM .... RealFeel 10 degrees higher .... forecasted high 84 with tonight's low dropping to 71 .... a heavy thunderstorm; storms can bring flooding downpours and localized damaging wind gusts .... they say we are in for 4 hours of rain .... due to the blood clots mentioned above, Maureen's surgeon had stopped her physical therapy for at least 2 weeks .... that sure helps to uncomplicate our schedule for a short while

46 now with a high of only 68 forecast. We had a cold front come in yesterday bring strong winds and lots of smoke from the fires over by dave77 yesterday. Thankfully this morning the smoke has cleared out considerably. Nice weekend expected sunny and 70-80 temps. Then on and off rain next week and for that we give a big thank you to ma nature.
Not much on tap for today, the local home builders association is having the fall festival of homes, new upscale homes on display open for the public to view. We may go out a visit a few.
The Seattle Seahawks tried real hard to give a certain victory back to the Arizona Cardinals last night but managed to stop the bleeding and hit a long field goal with no time on the clock to pull the victory back. I’m too old to have to deal with this. Good think I have a strong heart!

Yes, 2 big fires getting closer, especially yesterday as it was windy, supposed to be pretty calm for the next week so that will help. Yesterday was weird, lots of smoke from both fires but the smoke was blowing over us at a high altitude and it was very clear down low and could even see some blue sky.
You could see the glow from the fire to the North last night, that fire would have to cross the Wenatchee River to get to Wenatchee proper and the Columbia River to get to East Wenatchee but it's a pretty large suburb on that side of the river.

it was a dark and stormy night .... this is the notice we received this morning :
Outage Details:
Start:
09/26/2025 10:07 PM
End:
09/27/2025 7:17 AM
they say a tree came down on the lines which happens all too often .... considering the facts that the storm moved through fairly quickly, not much wind, less than an inch of rain, high in the sky lightening, no boom indicating a close hit .... 72 with a RealFeel of 80 at 10AM with rain on the way .... per AccuWeather "Dull and dreary with a couple of showers and a heavy thunderstorm; not as warm but humid; slow-moving downpours can lead to localized flash flooding" .... projected high 78 with tonight's low dropping to 66

The smoke staying above the valley floor certainly is a blessing. I saw an example in the link you posted. Our local weather folks are showing a smoke map with your area in the worst category. Hopefully your air will stay reasonable.’
46 this morning with an overcast. Local news is preempted by the golf coverage so no current report but last I heard today was supposed to be sunny and mid 70’s. Not so…
This morning is run around day with a trip to nearby Idaho. Hitting the John Deere dealer over there for oil and filters for my tractor and hitting a boat supply store in the Spokane Valley for oil and filters for my outboards. I’ve had only Mercurys before and now a I have Yamaha’s. Don’t know how different they will be particularly draining the lower unit oil. Gonna learn, I ordered manuals for both the main and the kicker.
