I’m back to working on the road after a few days of working in the lower pine plantation. Here I laid a culvert in place. It’s 30’ long and I’ll cut out into 22’ and 8’ sections. The long one will go approximately where it’s at and the short one will eventually go for foot traffic in another location. This will be a good place to access the upper lawn from the upper garage without having to drive 300 yards. And I can walk out to attend the gongs and put up paper targets.

The culvert is half buried. I need more road building gravel which I hope will be delivered in the morning.

This is a separate project 400 yards from the garage and road but instead of starting a new thread I’ll add it here. I want to add a 12’ by 20’ green house. This will get spring and fall sunshine for most of the day. When I get a load of road building gravel tomorrow I’ll ask the driver if he can drive on the field. I’ve had a large tree bucket and a boom truck out there before.

I’m impressed with how green your place is but I do recall you have had some serious rains this summer. With envy.

It’s very wet and green here. I’m glad because the fire danger is low.

I had some thick brushy fruit trees removed along Ring School Road. They didn’t produce fruit and were an eyesore plus it blocked the view to and from the house. First picture is a telephoto view from my front porch. The brush this side of the claw crawler was removed The tower is 3,000 feet away from the house and is on Timms Hill.

The view from where the crawler was looking back at the house. You could not see the house from this view before removal. The piles of brush will be burnt this fall.

I removed the lower brush in the lower plantation earlier. The foreground has always looked this this except some stumps on the left were removed.

And now you can see through the plantation.

The view from the house is beautiful but the view to the house is also. The problem was you only saw small peeks and now it’s open for several hundred yards wide.

Three of the six loads were delivered a few minutes ago. I’ll be heading for Milwaukee before the next three loads get here. They didn’t have any problems crossing the hayfield.

Well it’s 90% leveled. I was going to order the greenhouse today but think I’ll let the gravel winter over.

What kind of a greenhouse are you ordering? We got a kit from Harbor Fright, woke up the morning we had our record 24" snowfall and it had collapsed. Should have braced up the roof but that much snow in one night was kind of unexpected.

We lost our bowling alley that year, one of the main ceiling beams had cracked from the weight of the snow and they closed down for safety reasons. Before they repaired it, it burnt down. They never replaced it so we are still running double shifts at our other smaller bowling alley.
