Invasive Species & Lake Trout
Invasive Species & Lake Trout
Lake Huron and other Great Lakes have the Invasive Species, Zebra Mussel and Goby.
In Lake Huron the story where're getting is the Goby is eating the Zebra Mussel and the Lake Trout are gorging on the Goby. When reeling these fish in they where crapping out/puking up Gobies. We where about 8km/5miles off shore, fishing using down riggers, in about 140ft of water
Rumer's are Native Commercial Fishermen have netted Laker's up to 75 bs in Lake Huron.

Those zebra mussels have made it into many US lakes even though we have boat inspections at about every lake here. I here now Lake Powell has them in it. I dont see how even with inspections that they will be kept out of the lakes. Nice catch of fish. Im not much of a trout eater and have never tried lakers

Goby and Zebra mussels have invaded Lake Erie as well. It sure hasn’t hurt the Walleye fishing.

I pressure wash the boat & trailer using hot water with soap & bleach, then store the boat in the shed for 2 weeks before I go on holidays in Northern Ontario.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 10:29 amThose zebra mussels have made it into many US lakes even though we have boat inspections at about every lake here. Good fish! What are they hitting on this summer? How deep? Heading down to Port Burwell in a couple weeks.

We fish out of Lorain Ohio. This year I don’t think it really matters what you use, fish every where. We go out to about 40’ and start a drift with bottom bouncers and crawler harness. Limits of 6 fish per person in a couple hours is the norm. Trolling with divers and spoons is very popular anywhere 40 to 50 feet deep.
