Yeah that is tough to do holding camera in one hand and shooting with the other. Maybe a flash trigger app for it?

Today’s featured plinking was done at dusk. I tried to snap the picture to get some muzzle flash but never clicked at the right time. Still it was fun to see in person.

Next time try taking a video. Then extract a 'frame grab' picture of the flash with your video editing software.

Just finished up a little plinking session with the 357 Rossi. Shot up the last dozen of those 162gr I had loaded then, then 50 of the Pugnose over 9.4 grs. of Blue dot this time.
Shoots about the same as the 11.4 grs. of 2400.
Was sitting on the steps from the deck to the patio and resting the elbows on my knees for the most part.
Just slapping the gongs around. Shot the chain into on the 3" gong in the back. :o

Hard to beat a 357 rifle for just plain fun shooting. Of all the Marlin lever guns I had, I miss the 357 the most.

I only have two left and one is actually a 38 only. At one time I had six and now the Rossi is the only true 357 I have. I sold about 3/4 of my collection of firearms before I left Seattle.

Well, I had so much fun with the Rossi, that after the wife got home from the grocery.
Helped bring them in, I ended up putting another 20 rounds through it and 40 something through the New Model Vaquero.

I've been thinking about the new Ruger/Marlin 357, I'd sure like to look at one.

My wife and I spent two days plinking at the property and a good time was had.

First I was checking zero on my Henry BBS 41 mag and she walked up and said she would like to give it a try. To the best of my memory I don’t think she has ever shot a center fire rifle before but has lots of time on her 22lr bolt. In the center bullseye the three shots high and right were mine, made a scope adjustment and the fourth shot in the bullseye was the result. This is the time she walked up. So I got her set up with the Henry and she put the two shots in the bullseye in the bottom right pic. Nicely done Mrs. Hatchdog.

This was at 50 yards off a bench. The upper right and left targets are me shooting my Marlin 39-A. The left target is horrible and I told myself “you’re better than that”. The right target is me with better concentration but I still leaked two out to the left. Mo’ practice brother!

The next day we got set up with from left to right: Marlin 39-A, Henry BBS 41 mag, Ruger 10/22 LVT, and her Ruger American 22 lr youth model (she’s tiny).

I set up a rimfire spinner target at 25 yards for some offhand shooting. She didn’t feel comfortable with that so she leaned against the Ranger and used the bed rail for support. She then went 100% on hits on the large spinner. Nicely done. I then set up some bowling pins I shot offhand with the Henry 41 and also was 100%.

Next we brought the dogs up as the puppy hadn’t been exposed to near by gunfire. Started out with rimfire and he didn’t seem to be concerned at all. Then I shot the 41 and again he didn’t care. However the adult dog who has hunted grouse with us many times was too excited. After every shot he wanted to go do the retrieve and my wife could barely hold his leash. That’s a good thing tho…

Sure was lots of fun but as we had already packed up camp and were planning to head home we called it quits. Great time.
