Re: Planning a Gathering In/Around KC in August
Tagging on my few comments about everybody's revolvers at the pistol range from JEBar's post:
Jim's (Cofisher) 32 was a little small for my big paw, and I didn't shoot it. Still, a very nice-looking revolver. I had a surprise with another revolver Cofisher brought. He has a Ruger SP101 .357 magnum 4.2" kit gun. It was the twin of my SP101! So I shot a couple of cylinder loads, and it felt like putting on a comfortable, soft glove. The DA trigger was perfect, and reminded me of the many hours I spent training myself to handle that DA trigger pull. Fun shooting.
Got to comment on the Russian, of course. I had a thread a while back on some trouble I'd been having unloading the top-break. The spent cartridges (maybe 2-3) would get "trapped" under the ejector star. My problem was that I wasn't using gravity to do the job. So I've figured out how to handle the Russian upside down for brass ejection. I don't think the other fellows minded (hope not!) that I kind of "took over" for loading and unloading whenever they took turns shooting this 45 Colt. I didn't have a problem with my upside down procedure. Whatever works is a good thing.
I think the Henry rifle shooting today looks to be a great time. What a collection of these beautiful rifles is going to the
range today! More range reports to come from the KC get-together guys.
Plus whatever made-up stories might also crop up
The collection was a blast for me, a wheel-gun guy. Evan's two Ubertis are sharp-looking and sharp-shooting replicas. That 45 Colt is an especially RELAXING caliber to send bullets downrange....the handgun range was plain old fun .... shaking hands with Bob's Russian, Evans' 357 & 45. and Jim's 32 was really nice ....

Re: Planning a Gathering In/Around KC in August
hey now, just remember that you provided the details, I didn't .. .. Evan is a big guy and while its a pretty thing, the stock on his 20 is way too short .... I liked it, even offered him $1 for it and promised to not back out ....ESquared wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 10:46 pmBy "consistent," he means I failed to hit one bird with my 20 Single Shot Turkey gun. And, as Cofisher pointed out immediately, it does not fit me, as it appears to have about an 11.5" LOP in my freakishly long arms, and, as we know, "FIT" in a trap gun is everything. I plan to take said Turkey Gun to my trap class and confirm that it should never to the trap range ever again. I offered to sell it to Cofisher on the spot, but the jury is still out on that transaction.
actually, we had finished eating and the table had been mostly cleared .... the food was excellent .... I ordered a combo plate of Pork ===> baby back ribs, burnt ends and shredded ....markiver54 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 9:28 amGreat pic guys! Glad you are all having fun! Good food, good company. They all outshot me today. No big surprise.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Looks like a great time had by all. Were's the 101? Great food, beans are the best you'll ever have. Never had a bad meal at JackStack.
Wish was there, but couldn't make it. Maybe next time.

Are you guys finished? Or is the gathering going to continue? Great seeing you guys together!
I know it's been fun so far and wish I could have been there.
Thanks for sharing your activities and pics!
BTW....Evan...I think you need about a 16" LOP......

Wow thats alot of food. looks like theres enough for 2 people on that plate. No Single shot report here. Just curious how the Single shot 357 did. Did Jim get to shoot it at all.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
