CVA Scout compact 7mm-08

Post by Oldbrass » Tue Feb 09, 2021 5:41 pm

Needed a low recoil replacement for my 30-06. Planned on Henry 243 youth then Picked this up for $219 NIB and had a spare leupy 3-9 I threw on it. I'm still in a neck brace so can't fire it but the wife got it on paper, it's accurate and she said it's easy to shoot with 139 Hornady American Whitetail A friend traded for 45acp reloads.👍 Lockup is solid, opens easy and weight is 5.5 pounds , excellent recoil pad 13" Length of pull 20" barrel . No fancy wood perfect beater hunting rig for a 5'7" short armed retired army grunt.. PS rifle comes with scope rail. All CVA are Bergera barrel and lifetime warranty

Sounds like a good solution to what you needed. Enjoy

I’m liking both the rifle and the sunshine at your range. :D

Great caliber, I used it for handgun silhouette shooting a billion years ago (or so it seems like) I’m trying to remember the bullet I used but my memory is slipping a bit. Anyway that set up should serve you fine. Also liking the raised cheek piece on the stock. Nice set up with the Leupold.

We had a break in the weather, the wife won't shoot in the rain. She likes the CVA but is now inquiring about the 243 henry, she sais it's PURDY 🙄

I like the 350 Legend. But with no ammo and reloading components wont be one coming to my door anytime soon
