Lever Rifle I wish Henry would make, I can dream Can't I
Re: Lever Rifle I wish Henry would make, I can dream Can't I
I agree about the "silly" 9 mm thing. If one is looking for an inexpensive rifle to shoot , then stick with a rim fire . As one who has shot my own loaded ammo for over 50 years I can't get excited about a rifle that scatters centerfire brass all over the landscape. Maybe a single shot in the 9 caliber would be more easily put in the inventory for distribution to those that are interested.

Oh that’s easy for me… I want a LEVER .45 ACP… I would be willing to put a down payment TODAY towards a Big Boy in .45 ACP, he’ll, I’ll take 2, a Case Hardened and an All-Weather. Are u listening, HENRY, I’ll take 2.

It sure would be a nice easy shooting rifle. I know it can be done and they are just the ones to do it. Better ammo availability and price.

Not sure what a 9mm runs at pressure-wise offhand, but I wouldn't think it would be more than a 44 mag. I do think the more pointed bullets would be an issue.
As for me, I just wish Henry would make the 41 Magnum available in a side loading gate model. That shouldn't take much work at all.

The 41 mag is the Rodney Dangerfield of calibers. It gets no respect. That being said I dont think you will ever see a Henry sidegate in 41 mag. There is a chance from what I read that Ruger will make a Marlin in 41 mg.North Idaho Shooter wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 5:26 pmNot sure what a 9mm runs at pressure-wise offhand, but I wouldn't think it would be more than a 44 mag. I get your drift on the 9mm thing. I have a 40. I dont shoot my PC in 40 cause its cheap I shoot it cause its fun. I might throw brass all over he** but sometimes I dont even pick it up. Cause I know that when I go to the range down here anyway someone else might have shot the same caliber and it went into a nice little pile for easy pickens. I pick that up. 40 Brass is cheap and you can usually always find 40 ammo reasonable. Reasonable enough to have fun bustin up targets or makin steel swing. A 22 has a hard time swingin a 6 inch steel plate. Just sayinTravlin wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 11:37 pmI agree about the "silly" 9 mm thing. All things considered, I still think Henry will one day make the 9mm and probably the 45 acp. like in the video. Especially after ready all the replies here. I bet they are thinking about it. That would put them first on the list to have a traditional lever action style in those calibers.

There's no doubt the .22 is the simplest way to shoot targets but my hearing isn't very good anymore and the CLANG of a 147 gr. cast bullet on the 50 yard swinger is far more satisfying than the faint "tink" of a .22.
