Subaru Surprise

Post by DWD445 » Fri Feb 03, 2017 10:33 pm

We've all heard of the proverbial "sleeper" !!
I worked on this 05 Imprezza 2.5 GT Turbo (WRX without some trim) did plugs and coils, which was not much fun. The road test on the other hand  :? This thing is crazy fast :D
It was wet out, but AWD hooked up and set you back in your seat !! I'd be getting tickets for sure, VERY FUN !! I've driven Porsches that had nothing on this one!!

I can imagine just how fast with that one. This Spring I traded in my 2002 Subaru Impreza with the standard 2.5 engine and it only had 66,000 miles on it. Even with that engine it was really fast with terrific acceleration. Only problem was, that from the years of bring exposed to the salt on the roads here in the winter, the frame had rusted out and it wasn't worth getting it repaired. The car was only worth a little more than what they wanted to put new parts on it. It would not pass Pa.inspection. I bought a Toyota RAV4.
