Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry
Henry 410 lever
Henry 410 lever
I'm intrigued with this shotgun and considering purchasing one. The question is, which barrel length. I don't hunt. I might shoot some clays with it( probably miss more than I hit). The advertising says the 20" barrel is more versatile, I don't see that with its fixed open choke. The 24" barrel has exchangeable chokes. Experiences and opinions?

I don't understand why they only have choke tubes in both .... unless its a rifled barrel, I wouldn't have a shotgun without choke tubes

Bump. I was wondering the same thing. I would like another 410 lever. I have a 9410.

Well, after one failed purchase from a dishonest gun seller on GunBroker. I finally have a H018 being shipped. I imagine late next week it will be in my possession. I ordered a case and 2 choke tubes ( mod and skeet) from Henry. I'll keep you posted.

It's here! I'm still waiting on the additional choke tubes. Need to go out and pattern it with different loads and chokes. Photo is not loading. Will try later.

That’s a nice looking shotgun. I really like the pistol grip stock with the 3/4 magazine tube, classy!!

Re: Henry 410 lever
[/img]I finally gathered multiple types of shells and took the H018 out yesterday. We started the morning shooting clays. Winchester AA #9 target loads and a skeet choke. This is a fun shot gun to shoot. My 15 yo son had never shot clays before was picking them off left and right. Definitely the favorite gun in the group that we brought. You just have to make a mental note that there isn't a second shot like with autos and o/used. After lunch we went to the rifle range. I intended to do some patterning with various loads, but ran out of time. I did put some slugs though it. ATI rifled hollow point 1/4 ounce slugs. Here is the result at 50 yards and a modified choke. I think that is pretty good considering there is no rear sight.
