Great deal at $40. See a lot of guys using these. In fact, last time I went shooting in the desert with a few colleagues all four of us had the same headphones.

I just got a nice set of the Howard Leight by Honeywell. Camo impact sport it says on the box. They work great at the range. $70 Canadian. Amplifies low level sound up to 4 times, and filters out the harmful stuff. Very light and comfortable.

Was thinking about what to buy my mom for Christmas and remembered this thread! I bought her a pair of the Howard Leight Impacts along with some other shooting accessories. She likes her S&W Model 60 and trap shooting with her Beretta...

just got back from the range .... fired 100 44 Mags, a few 30-06's, something over 100 223's, and a bucket full of 9 mm's .... must say I'm impressed with the new hearing protection .... very comfortable to wear, excellent protection from muzzle blast while allowing me to hear all of the things I wanted to hear .... am already asking myself, Why didn't I get some of these years ago ?

Thanks for the report, JEBar; and for the recommendation, JCN. I think I'll give them a try, too. I like that they can also be used with my tablet to listen to movies, videos, or music. Just added them to my cart.

I love mine, they make the range even more enjoyable if that's possible!

I really wish I had them during the time I spent every possible minute hunting ..... decades ago I tried some electronic ear plugs that never did live up to their sales hype .... I was really impressed with this set at being able to determine the direction from which the sound was coming
