Is this revolving carbine thing any good?

Liked the looks of it but really didn't know what to expect when it came to shooting it.

Well the thing shoots GREAT for me! First load was 5 rounds of my Speer soft lead 230 gr. bullet loaded over 5.5 gr. of Red Dot. The goal here to keep the load below 12,000 psi and the speed of this bullet at less than 1000 FPS as I do not know the max of this bullet before leading is a problem. Forgot the Magna Speed setup and will do that again later but this little fly weight Colt 45 carbine was dialed in out the box! Had heard these thing shoot high so I aimed at the bottom of the paper plate and that is where it hit rather than going higher....great! So I put the bead on the red center and from 25 yards the second shot was right on it...Nice! After getting comfortable with where you place your left hand to avoid a cylinder gap blast I was able to get a couple groups. Not bad at all and no adjusting the sights needed.
Then I tried 5 shots of slightly hotter 250 gr. MB bullet with 6 gr. of Red Dot and you could tell by firing it was in that 12,000 psi. range where the first load was around 10,000 according to my Lyman manual. Those 5 shots gave a much tighter group and had a bit more recoil to them. Think I will stick with the 230 gr. and 5.5 Red Dot as it does what I need and hits the target where you aim and pleasant to shoot saving the carbine.
Had a blast hitting the steel with little effort and was hitting the swinging plates from 40 yards consistently!
This has to be the lightest Colt 45 Carbine you can get making it easy to get on target and FUN to shoot. The sights much better than the ones on the Remington revolver which I had trouble trying to keep the hits on target as that front blade is tiny.

Very surprised and pleased at how this Remington revolver carbine shot today!

Is your weak hand in front of the cylinder when you fire?

Bottom rear of brass trigger guard has a curved extension that you cup your left hand around somewhat like a two hand grip on a pistol. This keeps that hand behind the front of cylinder and helps steady the rifle. You pull the stock back into your shoulder. No problem today with any blast hitting my hand/fingers. Easy to shoot! The hammer pull not heavy and it had a nice trigger. It is single action only.

Well it is a standard length carbine so no holster for this one. I wonder it being a BP rifle and not under ATF regs. could you shorten the barrel to 14 inch? The thing is really light weight!

Thanks for the replies! I am going to try that 250 gr. load but at a lower 5.5 gr. of Red Dot and also have my Magna Speed chrono hooked up.
Again it really surprised me how it shot right on target out of the box. The rear sight was all the way down and windage looked to be neutral plus the sights were easy for my almost 70 yr. old eyes to see and get on target. The bore was clean as new after shooting the soft lead Speer and MB coated bullets.
