Some range fun and then the Bounty Hunter visit.....

Post by fortyshooter » Tue Sep 03, 2024 7:33 pm

A great Fall like day so off to my range this morning with my Colt Anaconda and the HiPoint Bullpup 45 ACP. I seem to always to shoot the Anaconda better in double action and think it is due to the pull of the trigger seating the grip firmly in my hand. Shot my mild 44 Mag 240 gr. load of 9.5 gr. BE-86 which is a great plinking load on the steel. Then my hotter load of 240 gr. SWC MB bullet over 18.5 gr. of Alliant 2400 and yes it carry's some punch but you don't feel it thru the Colt's rubber grip. All shots were double action.
Then fired up the HiPoint 45 ACP carbine now in Bullpup stock and it ran great with no hang ups after 30 rounds. Could be better if not for the longer trigger pull due to the Bullpup design but it gets the job done.

Now there was some action down at the saloon with some bounty hunter guy wandering around with a 45-70 strapped to his leg looking for some no count that ran off with gambling money. He stopped long enough to show me a couple hip shots with that beast and they would stop somebody for sure!

Just a great day for some range fun!

Funny you should mention that as I heard a couple of those critters in an oak tree just behind the little cabin! :o :D

Dang forty, with that well armed Bounty Hunter around you had better stay on the good side of the law. Wouldn’t want that dude hunting me down.
