Orthodox Christians in central and eastern Europe and other parts of the world celebrate Christmas on January 7th, which is what I did growing up in northern Illinois. This date works to the Julian calendar that pre-dates the Gregorian calendar, which is commonly observed. My Mom's side of our family celebrated on December 25th while my Dad's side celebrated on January 7th.
As a kid, how much fun it was to celebrate Christmas twice within two weeks.

The traditional Orthodox greeting whenever we attended church services is a special memory I'll always keep.
