“Don't excommunicate me for owning a black rifle, I am nostalgic.“ too.

Mine is an S&W M&P in .223/5.56. I bought it pre-passing of OR Measure 114. I bought it before I couldn't.

The BO can't run with the 7.62x39...........In bullet weight nor speed.......No need for one.

What did you get?
My Service Rifle has the A1 stock, which was the favored stock 20-25 years ago. It's a little bit shorter than the A2, which was supposed to help with position shooting with irons. You were not allowed to use anything adjustable back then, but that's not the case now.

I think a shorter LOP is better for a hunting rifle too, as it makes shouldering a bit less problematic. I collapsed the UBR2 a bit when I tried hunting with my 6.8, which worked well, but other things need to be changed for that to work for me to hunt with again.

I found what I think is a decent deal on a Brownell's stock. It is an A2 style stock for about $53 or $54 but the A2 buffer tube extension and A2 stock screw were not included. Still, even with those two inexpensive items added to the cart, it wasn't too bad out the door.

Once I get the lower put together, I will have to think about an upper. .223/5.56 or 7.62X39 Soviet or .300 BO or? With sights or without sights? Barrel length? Cost?

Whew! I might just put it in the back of the safe, thinking that hard makes my head hurt.
