Well you start with a plastic tool tote container......
Got started on this "carry all" project this morning for my utility tractor. Stopped by Harbor Freight and picked up a heavy duty plastic tool container.
Then dug around in my shed and found a perfect bent piece of tube that came off another old lawn tractor. Went by the local welding/machine shop and picked up some steel I did not have for the project. So about 50 bucks in it so far and looking good! Will add pull pins so I can remove it when needed. Going to add a vertical bar like a short roll bar to secure items like my small chain saw and either the Ranch Hand or the 20 gage Shockwave.
Just having fun building the thing while saving some bucks!

Nice work. You saved all that shipping too.
The tote looks much sturdier than the canvas on the Craftsman.

Thanks Dave! This thing is a design as you go project and one thing it does need is a pair of stiffeners to go from frame to the body area where it is all mounted. There is a good bit a body flex in that area.daytime dave wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 8:08 amNice work. You saved all that shipping too.

Very nice, the tote is even color matched! Did you have to beef up the fenders to support the extra weight and dynamic cargo load?

Yes I added a brace in a convenient place in the center to the frame. Really tightened it up. Moving along nicely.John E Davies wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 9:37 amVery nice, the tote is even color matched! Did you have to beef up the fenders to support the extra weight and dynamic cargo load?
