Wonder if it looks as good or better than the Pythons of old?

That’s too rich for my blood. Besides I was never a colt revolver fan boy even though they make a beautiful gun.

I never understood all the hoopla over them to begin with.
I have an original King Cobra, I don't think it's all that special.
It's just a 357 pistol as far as I'm concerned.
I have no interest in either the old or new pythons.

I have a Colt Trooper III that I really like. I've had it a long time and is very well made.
Shoots good too.

These 1500.00 to 2K revolters are outa my checking account range. And to me they dont touch the looks of the old Smiths.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I read where it is not the same blue as the older ones were. They have also cut the price of the stainless Pythons now atleast looking at what Bud's Guns is selling them for like $1300 range. Love that 44 Mag Anaconda I have though!

Agree, to me the deep rich blue of the original Python was one of it’s best features. The one in the link is probably more practical for a user but it sure isn’t as “pretty”. My neighbor who is retired law enforcement has the 4” Python he carried for years. It’s so beat up it’s sad but to him it tells lots of stories and he’s happy with it just as it is.

Not the royal blue of the original, that's for sure. I've seen some of those original Pythons and have to admit when in mint condition, they are one fine looking revolver.

To be honest, $1300 for one of these new Colt CNC snake guns isn't that far out of line on the price. Even new Ruger DA revolvers are now 1K or better. One of our local shops just got in a new Ruger Alaskan and had it at $1100 and a new Redhawk at $1000. These are the first new Ruger DA revolvers they've been able to get in almost two years. As the big names make fewer and fewer magnum revolvers, they are becoming more of a specialty item and getting priced, accordingly.

I was in a gun shop that had just gotten a 6" Anaconda, a 6" Python and a 4" Python. I was very tempted to take all three. It just wasn't in the financial cards at that time. I'd have to see the blued Python in person to decide if I wanted one. So far, in all the time I have collected, I've passed on all the snake guns I ever came across. I may have to rethink that position.
