Mossberg 410 Turkey

I use the pump for squirrel hunting and had a peep sight on it. I installed this Hiviz/Triviz sight on it this morning. I shot it a few times and kinda like it. It’s kinda bulky looking. What do y’all think? Anybody have experience with them? Gonna try and shoot more tomorrow and see if I’m going to like as much as the peep sight.

The sight looks nice! I have not tried one. But, it seems like a good set up though.

My oldest grandson is big turkey hunter. He’s wanting to shoot a turkey with a 410. I’m kinda getting it ready for him to use next turkey season. Meantime I can see if I like it. I can use it on squirrels this fall. He’s been telling me how good the 410 is on turkeys using that TSS shot. I think that’s what it is. I know it’s expensive.

TSS is very expensive. The cheapest I found was Remington at 5.50$, a shot, plus shipping. The more expensive stuff(10$+) patterns better out 40-50 yards. I have the same Mossberg and have patterned out to 40 yards with Browning tss, the maximum for this shell. I ordered a red dot for it to get it dialed in better.

He’s shot them with 12, 16, and 20 gauge. He wants at least one with the 410.

He’s been busy getting his house ready to move into. Already getting doves fields ready for next month.I think he’s going to use it to shoot doves one day next month.

Tina uses her 410 pump very effectively to eliminate the raiding armadillos that come into the yard and flowerbeds/landscaping at night to dig everywhere in search of grubs, worms, etc. They tear the yard up something fierce. They can dig all over the rest of the farm, but stay out of the yard! (Other vermin and coyotes are subject to the same greeting around the coop.) I like the looks of that sight, looks quick once you get used to it.

Nice looking sights, I have one one of those little scatter guns.
I've shot sporting clays with it before, and pheasant hunted once, never thought about turkey.
Got some 3" 4 shot that would probably work well though.

Good luck, we have a short Fall season here for shotguns Oct. 15-28.
But with archery equipment it's same as the archery deer season, Sept. 24th-Oct. 28th, and Oct. 31st- Nov. 4th.

I have a .410 Mossberg pump I use for squirrels. I like it a lot. That sight looks really nice.
I hope he gets the turkey this year. It should be nice for doves too.
